Techniche Global are supporting a leading automotive manufacturer to appoint an Instrument Cluster Principal Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
* Development of Instrument Cluster, Head-Up Displays, and Displays to meet Nissan Design and Test standards.
* Close management of suppliers to ensure the parts under development are delivered in line with program requirements for cost, quality, and timing.
* Issue and maintain physical part BOM and configuration data for Nissan manufacturing plant.
* Prepare functional specifications through discussion with system owners, customer-oriented engineering, styling, and trim engineers.
* Present part development status at regular internal Design Reviews.
* Review and approve part drawings submitted by suppliers.
* Manage in-house and supplier validation of the parts.
* Resolve technical issues with test departments and suppliers.
* Support vehicle development builds at Nissan manufacturing plants. Investigate, contain, and resolve issues as they arise.
* Conduct vehicle life cycle cost reduction idea generation and implementation.
* Lead vehicle life cycle warranty investigations and countermeasure implementations.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
* Relevant Engineering degree or equivalent.
* Understanding of basic electrical theory.
* Experience developing HMI based parts.
* Familiar with automotive electrical architecture.
* Exposure to CAN communication (1 year minimum).
* Familiar with software development V cycle (1 year minimum).
* Familiar with software validation methods.
