An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's business based in Leigh. The role will require the application of manufacturing and industrial engineering concepts to optimise processes, increase productivity, and improve product quality.

Description
1. Fully understand the capability of the manufacturing equipment and work with maintenance to ensure it is in optimum operating condition at all times, user-friendly, and safe.
2. Provide support to production on a daily basis to enable them to meet the production plan and maintain customer on-time delivery, including process troubleshooting, checking machine setup and functionality, and checking materials meet specified requirements.
3. Perform factory experiments for the Design and Development Department, which may include process/machine design and modification work and the understanding of processing new materials.
4. Identify any potential upgrades to the production area, including manufacturing equipment, that will improve process quality, efficiency, and reduction of waste.
5. Work with the Design and Development and Quality departments to carry out FMEA and implement robust solutions to manufacturing problems.
6. Proactively identify quality weaknesses and implement effective control solutions.
7. Lead and facilitate problem-solving teams to achieve specific production objectives and continuous improvement targets.
8. Develop, monitor, and audit shop floor documentation, e.g., process instructions and standard operating procedures to meet various ISO accreditations.
9. Manage the specification, installation, and commissioning of new plant and manufacturing equipment.
10. Critically review the manufacturing process and ensure it is optimised for best practices.
Profile
A successful Manufacturing Engineer should have:
1. A degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
2. Proficiency in using CAD software.
3. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial engineering techniques.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills.
5. The ability to work well as part of a team.
