The Role
NHS Lanarkshire has an exciting opportunity to expand our current team of Specialist radiographers at University Hospital Wishaw, to supplement our OOH service. The Specialist Radiographer will justify / authorise and perform Radiographic examinations, providing direct care and a high quality diagnostic imaging service for the management of patients referred from clinicians and other referrers in NHS Lanarkshire and will supervise Radiographers and SHCSW ensuring continuity of service delivery.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Registered Radiographer with valid HCPC Registration
2. Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
3. Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
5. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
6. Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
7. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
8. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
9. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Effective time management skills
11. Working knowledge of basic information technology
It would be great if you also have
12. College of Radiographers IV injection certificate
13. existing NHS Scotland experience working at Band 6 level.
14. CT, mammo or angio experience
15. Relevant clinical experience at radiographer grade with proven competencies in applying theory to practice
16. Training on relevant equipment
17. Training on Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000
18. Ability to train student radiographers
19. Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence
20. Ability to participate in Out of Hours working
