Senior Android Mobile and SDK Developer
Primarily Remote (Occasional travel to London required)
Join a tech for good start-up who are transforming the navigation sector to make it more accessible to certain disabilities such as visual impairment. The company has an innovative, high-technology approach to navigation and people needs and their product has successfully been launched in Europe, America, and Asia.
Key Details / Purpose of this role:
The purpose of the role is building an SDK to provide the client's system to potential partners who already have well-established apps for their users and don't want to move their users to the client's apps.
They need someone with end-to-end architecting (high-level component diagrams to low-level module, database, dataflow, classes, testing pipeline, etc.) experience on the mobile side as they already have an architect on the server side. Whilst also having strong hands-on coding experience in Android.
This will be a highly rewarding and interesting role for the right candidate with an opportunity to work on tech a lot of businesses can't offer.
The ideal skillset of the Senior Android Developer:
* Significant architectural and SDK design and development experience is essential
* Experience developing mobile applications on the Android platform with a demonstrable portfolio working with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
* Understanding of Java and Object-Oriented programming
* Strong understanding of XML and HTML for UI design and layout purposes
* Familiarity with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools for automated build processes

Interview Process (all conducted via Teams):
* Meeting the CTO of the business to discuss the role in more detail (45 minutes)
* Interview with the Tech Lead talking through an application/architectural design (60 minutes)
* Final where you'll meet one of the executive team (20 minutes)
