Job Description
The salary for this role is £54,376 (inclusive of a Market Premium Payment (MPP)). Onsite working is expected for 3 days each week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working.
This role is to be based at the following site: Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open-source data.
The Role
The Fusion Futures Industry Capability aims to create a strong UK industry sector that leads the world in operationalising and commercialising fusion energy.
We are looking for experienced Project Managers to support delivering the Fusion Futures Industry Capability programme. They will work closely with the head of the programme and various programme managers involved in the programme and ensure that the programme activities and tasks are executed to a high standard.
As Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading/managing the project and the project team on a day-to-day basis. You will be responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of the project to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost, and quality constraints. You will also play a key role in project governance and working with stakeholders, to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised.
The programme is looking for people with specific experience in one or more of the following:
1. Governance and reporting focus
2. Benefit management focus
3. Planning and resourcing focus
Key Responsibilities:
1. Budget – Provide management of project(s) of budgets of up to circa £10M.
2. Resource Management – Manage the effective deployment of project resources through a clear definition of roles and responsibilities, working methods and the sequencing of tasks.
3. Benefits Management – Evaluate and present decisions that secure the benefits the project is tasked to deliver.
4. Contracts – Complete contract project management, e.g. NEC4 contracts.
Qualifications
Essential:
1. Track record of delivering complex engineering/scientific projects to budget, time and cost
2. Experience of developing successful teams and individuals
3. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to make sound economic decisions that maximise project value
4. Experience of financial management of (£M’s) budget
5. Experience in one of the following: Benefits, Planning and Resources, or Governance
