What's involved with this role: Temporary Neighbourhood & Tenancy Officer – Housing Job Ref: Bromsgrove & Redditch RQ1417272 Pay Rate: £18.06 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 37 Monday – Fridays, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3 months City: Redditch, Worcestershire Enhanced DBS disclosure required for this role Hybrid working – 4 days in the office The purpose of the role is to support the strategic and operational managers in delivering the vision, strategies and initiatives for the Neighbourhood and Tenancy Team and the wider Housing Service of which you are an integral part. The ideal candidate will have at least three years demonstrable experience of working within a social housing service. Knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy management practices. Key Responsibilities: Manage and inspect properties, ensuring compliance with legislation and council policies. Address tenancy breaches and anti-social behaviour, coordinating multi-agency responses as needed. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop neighbourhood action plans and promote community well-being. Support tenants in sustaining tenancies, reducing homelessness, and making effective use of council housing stock. Maintain accurate case records, represent the council in court when required, and adhere to safeguarding protocols. Ensure reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) are responded to promptly and effectively and in compliance with and full use of legislation and take ownership of cases, planning, leading and co-ordinating multi agency responses where necessary. Keep thorough, factually accurate and readily auditable case files and be capable of producing high quality reports and statements, attending, and representing the Council at court as a witness where it becomes necessary. Ensure all emerging safeguarding risks in adults and children are recognised and are actively in prioritised as cases and responses are driven to successful outcomes. Ensure your neighbourhoods have clear action plans developed that are designed to improve health and safety of the environment, feed into asset management capital spending plans, reduce anti-social behaviour and environmental crime and that as lead stakeholders, your plans include all relevant agencies and key stakeholders. Qualifications: Willing to work towards CIH Professional qualification Level 3 or other relevant qualification. 3 GCSEs or equivalent including English, Maths and or a second language at Grade A-C. Skills & Experience: Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation. Sound knowledge of housing legislation, regulation, and policy in relation to the provision of tenancy, leaseholder and housing management services and its practical application in various circumstances. Knowledge and experience of the provision of neighbourhood management services, including health & safety and contract monitoring. Extensive experience of undertaking casework for housing management processes. Extensive experience of managing nuisance & ASB, including co-ordinating multi agency responses, preparation for applications to civil courts and making representation at court. Experience of effectively and meaningfully engaging customers and stakeholders in the provision of services. Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
