Managing Director, ShowStage Event Structures
Overview:
ShowStage specialises in delivering world-class event stages and structures using system scaffolding for large-scale and high-profile events. As we expand, we are looking for a skilled System Scaffold Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of complex staging projects from concept to completion. This role is essential for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Budget Oversight: Develop comprehensive project plans that include timelines, budgeting, resource allocation, and logistical coordination. Monitor and control all project expenditures to ensure adherence to budget while meeting quality standards.
2. Full-Cycle Project Management: Manage all stages of the project lifecycle, from initial planning and site preparation to equipment setup, dismantling, and final inspections. Ensure each phase aligns with the project plan, client expectations, and our operational standards.
3. Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead and coordinate on-site teams, including scaffold engineers, foremen, and scaffold crews. Delegate tasks effectively, provide clear direction, and foster teamwork to maintain high productivity and morale on the job site.
4. Client Relations and Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project, addressing their needs, managing expectations, and providing regular updates on project milestones. Build strong client relationships that encourage repeat business and referrals.
5. Safety Management and Compliance: Uphold rigorous health and safety standards, ensuring all team members are aware of and comply with safety protocols. Conduct regular safety checks, risk assessments, and safety briefings to maintain a secure work environment on-site.
6. Problem Solving and Adaptability: Address on-site challenges as they arise, making real-time adjustments to keep the project on track. Proactively troubleshoot issues related to logistics, site conditions, or client needs to ensure minimal disruption to timelines.
7. Quality Control and Final Inspection: Maintain strict quality control throughout the project. Oversee the assembly and dismantling of scaffolding to ensure the final structure meets both client specifications and company standards. Conduct final inspections and make adjustments as needed for optimum safety and presentation.
Qualifications
1. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in event staging, construction, or scaffold-based projects. Experience with Layher scaffolding systems or similar modular scaffold systems is highly preferred.
2. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in project management software, budgeting tools, and an understanding of technical drawings and CAD plans. Strong knowledge of Layher scaffolding components and assembly is a plus.
3. Leadership and Team Management Skills: Proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects, with excellent communication skills to effectively direct teams and collaborate with clients.
4. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess challenges and make quick, informed decisions to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
5. Health and Safety Certification: Knowledge of relevant health and safety standards, with certifications such as SMSTS, SSSTS, or other safety qualifications related to scaffolding and construction.
6. Mobility and Flexibility: Willingness to travel internationally and work on-site as needed, often for extended periods during large events.
