This is a fantastic opportunity to join a world leading organisation involved in the rail sector. They operate globally as an organisation and this part of the business works in the UK and some of Europe providing maintenance and upgrades to rolling stock and locomotives.
They are now looking for a HSE Lead to deliver the HSE strategy across the business through strong interaction, training and coaching. The role will adopt a hands-on approach to ensure the company have a 'safety first' attitude which embeds the safety culture across sites in the UK and Europe.
The role reports to the SHEQ Manager and will provide expert advice to staff at all levels throughout the business supporting operational teams to identify areas of non-compliance and work with relevant teams on site to plan improvement.
The role will conduct auditing and training and work with on-site teams regularly to work for continuous improvement as well as deputising for the SHEQ Manager when required.
Candidates will require a background in rail or related engineering environments able work across the disciplines of Health and Safety and Environment particularly. The role carries a mix of influencing and coaching, and candidates will be required to demonstrate their experience in working across multiple sites.
This role will require travel throughout the UK and Northern Europe so candidates should be flexible for travel as and when required.
In addition to rail or engineering experience, it is expected that candidates will be TechIOSH and have an auditing qualification/experience. An understanding of rail regulations is required ideally for this role as would fire experience or COSHH.
