Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, therapeutic care to children and young people.
* Contribute to strategic planning and development initiatives within the home.
* Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe, loving, and supportive environment.
* Lead, supervise, and mentor staff, fostering a team focused on positive outcomes.
* Organise work rotas, facilitate care-focused training, and access external services to enhance childcare practices.
* Act as a positive role model, building trusting relationships that promote recovery and growth.
* Manage shift patterns, including sleep-ins, to meet the needs of the home.
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted legislation, safeguarding policies, and organisational standards.
* Assist with budget oversight and administrative tasks as required.
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a residential children's home.
* NVQ Level 4 in Management or Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
* Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures.
* Proven ability to manage and motivate a team with a proactive, hands-on approach.
* Experience supporting children with complex needs or emotional/behavioural difficulties.
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
* Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins, to support 24/7 care delivery.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff, children, and external professionals.
