We are looking for someone proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to shape the future of Clients and Entities onboarding here at Wilkes, a leading independent law firm in the Midlands. If you are a logical thinker, possess transferable skills within the customer service sector and want to qualify as a Solicitor in the future but currently don't have a training contract, then this role can be beneficial to you.
Who are we?
At Wilkes, we pride ourselves on delivering legal excellence to businesses, individuals, financiers, and charities. We’re not just another law firm – we’re a group of dedicated professionals who go above and beyond for our clients. And as our firm continues to grow, we’re looking for someone like you to join the team and help us elevate the client experience.
What’s the role?
This is your chance to own the client and entity onboarding process. In this newly created & standalone position, you’ll help us create a seamless journey for our clients as they get set up in our case management system. From conducting conflict searches to performing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks and ensuring every client is verified and compliant. This role is a fixed-term contract with the potential for extension, offering you a unique opportunity to shape this area of our business.
Please note: This role focuses on onboarding clients and entities into our case management system, not onboarding staff members.
What will you be doing?
* Helping our fee earners with smooth client onboarding and new matter setup.
* Running conflict searches and verifying ID documents, with a keen eye on AML checks.
* Performing smart searches to verify clients both nationally and internationally.
* Adding new entities to our Case Management System with precision and care.
* Keeping everything organized and up to date, including creating user guides for the onboarding process.
* Following up on tasks, ensuring deadlines are met, and keeping things running smoothly.
* Answering client questions, suggesting improvements, and collaborating with other teams when needed.
What do you need?
* Some experience in a similar role, ideally within a professional services setting.
* A sharp eye for detail – accuracy is key!
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Good organizational skills and the ability to juggle tasks with ease.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software (Bonus points if you’ve used Partner for Windows before!).
* A proactive mindset – you’re not afraid to take the lead and get things done.
What do we offer?
In addition to a competitive salary of up to £24,000 (pro-rated for the contract term), we’re all about looking after our people. Here’s what you can expect:
* 24 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
* Extra days off at Christmas (usually Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve)
* An option to buy up to 3 additional days of holiday
* 8% pension (with a 4% employee contribution and 4% employer)
* Life Assurance (4X salary)
* Cycle to work scheme and season ticket loans
* Employee Assistance Programme, bereavement support, and free flu jabs
* Discounts on will writing and conveyancing services
* Plus, the ability to give back with paid volunteer time and a referral program
Why Wilkes?
We’re not just offering a job – we’re offering a chance to be part of a growing, supportive team where your contributions truly matter. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a difference and develop your career in a forward-thinking law firm, this is the place for you.
