We are looking for a passionate and driven Service Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to continuous improvement in key areas such as installability, serviceability, upgradability, and sustainability.
In this role, you will represent user needs and ensure adherence to non-functional requirements throughout nominated projects and product lines. You will oversee the implementation, testing, and successful outcomes of solutions, considering the entire lifecycle while driving services that meet end-customer needs.
As part of the Service Solution team, you will be working with a range of products, systems, infrastructure, knowledge, and tools to deliver innovative solutions. The role also provides opportunities for knowledge transfer within the team and across other functions, which can be enhanced through rotation or secondment to gain a deeper understanding of other areas of the business. What you’ll do at Elekta
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for: For all levels (Engineer, Senior, Lead, Principal) degree of responsibility will vary:
* Leading Failure Modes, Effects & Criticality analysis to inform the serviceability.
* Initiating and participating in Service Design Continuous Improvement activities.
* Overseeing implementation of the abilities into products/solutions to achieve optimal through-life costs.
* Initiating and stewarding Field Change Orders through the FCO process.
* Knowledge transfer, creation, and maintenance.
* Undertaking and facilitating Service Solution Verification, Validation and User Acceptance Testing activities.
* Supporting supply chain colleagues to ensure that 3rd party service agreement Service Level Agreements reflect and meet the requirements for Elekta’s service solution.
* Escalated Service Incidents aligned with the BL Incident teams.
* Decomposition of Service User Needs into Service Solution Requirements.
* Service Solution System trades, Level of Repair, Maintainability, Availability, Testability, etc analysis.
* Supporting Clinical validation/Customer pilot.
* The creation of technical publications and training.
* Failure Reporting and Corrective Action Systems.
* Corrective and Preventative Actions relating to field incidents/problems.
* Investigation and Resolution of Service Safety Incidents.
Senior Level Role (in addition to Engineer):
* Proactively identifies and improves process gaps and product deficiencies.
* Adapts quickly and positively to complex or challenging situations.
* Mastery of service support processes, applying logical thinking and structured approaches in most complex situations.
Lead Level Role (in addition to Senior):
* Empower and guide others with proactive and insightful mentorship within the organization.
* Drive service innovation and influence the service and technical product roadmap.
* Lead root cause cross-functional investigation for product issues impacting the install base.
* Deputise for reporting line Manager.
The right stuff:
* Experience of working with customers face-to-face and remotely in high-pressure situations.
* Strong, proactive communication skills using all available tools. Concise and coherent written work.
* Ability to work independently and effectively interact with colleagues in other departments, business areas, and regions.
* Ability to operate at multiple levels of an organisation and in an international/multi-cultural environment.
* To engage and uphold Elekta’s values and to represent Service in a professional and positive manner.
* Proven leadership skills within a defined scope and the ability to coach others.
* Proven leadership skills – 3 years or more of technical leadership experience with complex systems. A mentor and coach of developing colleagues.
* Proven leadership skills – 5 years or more of technical leadership experience with complex systems. A senior mentor in developing colleagues.
What you bring:
* HND/HNC in engineering or scientific subject, or significant relevant experience.
* Proven electrical, mechanical, and control systems fault finding and repair skills on complex systems.
* Knowledge of industry standards such as ITIL, Agile SAFe, Project Management, and ISO.
* Experience working in a regulated medical environment supporting systems in the field.
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
* 3+ years of technical experience with complex products or systems.
* Awareness of Elekta product portfolio and basic clinical application knowledge.
* Advanced specialist knowledge in a specific engineering discipline or product.
* Proven technical leadership experience (3+ years for Lead, 5+ years for Principal roles).
* Expertise in Elekta products and business line product portfolio.
