My client is an established global manufacturer of large engineered-to-order equipment supplying throughout EMEA from their Droitwich, UK site.
The Principal Manufacturing Engineer is a critical function to create, deliver and implement improvements within the manufacturing facility.
Extensive experience in a similar manufacturing environment is essential; fabrication, structural steel, skid mounted plant, welding.
The Role
* Drive process improvements/business transformations/design and implement modern techniques and tooling/fixtures.
* Evaluate and improve quality control processes, production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines, and waste management.
* Ensure compliance.
* Review and calculate costs.
* Plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment placement to maximize manufacturing efficiency using MRP/ERP.
* Coordinate maintenance services.
Hours: 38 hours pw, flexible working, core hours 0930-1530.
Requirements
* Highly experienced Principal or Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
* Key experience leading DFA, DFM, PFMEA.
* Background in an engineered to order (ETO)/fabrication & assembly environment, structural steel.
* Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt preferred).
* Strong systems background in MRP/ERP, project management.
* AutoCAD/Solidworks would be an advantage.
