ABOUT US: Bespoke Joinery company been going 22 years based in Hawkhurst. Manufacture doors, windows, cabinetry, stairs etc. All staff have been with the company for a minimum of 5 years.
Job Title: Bench Joiner
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bench Joiner to join our team and contribute to the creation of high-quality wooden products. As a Bench Joiner, you will be responsible for crafting and assembling wooden components according to specifications and design requirements. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail, excellent woodworking skills, and the ability to work with precision tools and machinery.
Responsibilities:
* Woodworking: Craft and shape wooden components using a variety of hand and power tools, ensuring accuracy and precision in accordance with project specifications.
* Assembly: Assemble wooden components to create finished products such as furniture, doors, windows, and other bespoke joinery items.
* Reading and interpreting blueprints: Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and plans to ensure the accurate execution of projects.
* Material Selection: Choose and prepare appropriate wood materials for each project, taking into consideration the quality, grain, and finish required.
* Machine Operation: Operate woodworking machinery, including saws, planers, routers, and sanders, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
* Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet high standards of craftsmanship and adhere to design specifications.
* Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the production team, including designers and project managers, to ensure effective communication and smooth workflow.
* Problem-solving: Identify and resolve issues or challenges that may arise during the manufacturing process, finding creative solutions to ensure project completion.
* Maintaining Tools and Equipment: Keep tools and equipment in good working condition by performing regular maintenance and addressing any malfunctions promptly.
* Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Bench Joiner or similar role.
* Proficient in the use of hand and power tools for woodworking.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
* Strong attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills.
* Knowledge of wood properties, finishes, and joinery techniques.
* Commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
Education and Training:
A relevant vocational qualification in woodworking, carpentry, or joinery is preferred. Apprenticeship or on-the-job training in woodworking is highly valued.
