A privately owned commercial property and construction business based in Wolverhampton is looking to appoint a new Design Coordinator.
The Role:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design Coordination:
o Coordinate design activities between architects, engineers, and contractors.
o Ensure timely delivery of design information.
o Monitor design programmes and highlight potential delays.
2. Documentation Management:
o Maintain design registers and technical submittals.
o Track and manage RFIs.
o Oversee drawing distribution and version control.
3. Project Delivery:
o Organise and minute design team meetings.
o Maintain action logs and chase outstanding items.
o Liaise with the wider project team.
4. Technical Requirements:
o Review drawings and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, and preferably Navisworks.
o Ensure compliance with building regulations.
o Undertake regular quality checks on design deliverables.
Essential Requirements:
The Company:
A regional construction company, recognised for delivering high-quality projects throughout the region including schools, hospitals, offices, retail units, and industrial projects ranging to £6 million in value.
The Person:
1. It is likely you will have previously worked as a Design Coordinator in a similar commercial property environment.
2. Experience in design coordination or similar construction role.
3. Degree in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or related discipline.
4. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and preferably Navisworks.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
6. Sound understanding of UK building regulations and construction methods.
7. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
