This latest addition of the Cyber Protection Specialist role will further bolster our expanding IT team, ensuring that we continue to safeguard critical systems and data as the business scales up.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Information Security subject matter expert looking to apply their expertise and take a key role in the day-to-day implementation of a best-in-class IT security program.
The role will undertake the oversight of the security policies and events in these systems. This will include the daily analysis, response, tuning and maintaining of the security policies within the cyber protection systems.
Key aspects of the role will include:
* Implementing and managing security controls to protect against cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and data breaches.
* Making recommendations following analysis of security policies and events, helping to enhance the overall security posture of the organization.
* Monitoring security systems; oversee security alerts and logs to detect suspicious activities.
* Engaging in threat hunting activities to identify potential risks before they can be exploited.
* Developing training and guidance to other teams based on the intelligence gathered.
* Analysing the results of vulnerability scans to assess the severity and potential impact of identified vulnerabilities. Prioritise them based on risk levels and business impact. Oversee the remediation.
* Overseeing regular security health checks and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure the effectiveness of security controls.
You:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in Cyber security, with a proven track record of success in a financial services environment.
* Certifications such as CompTIA Security + or CISSP, or equivalent highly desirable but not essential.
* In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.
* Understanding of IT security frameworks, standards, and compliance requirements (e.g., FFIEC, GLBA, PCI DSS).
* Experience with security technologies and solutions (Proxy, DLP, IDS/IPS, Email gateways).
* Working knowledge of Security Architecture and potential security issues related to them PaaS, IaaS, SaaS and understanding of IAM, and Data Loss Prevention.
You will also need:

* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
