We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative clinician to join the Department of Psychological Medicine as part of an established team working into the Level 2a Neurorehabilitation Centre in Goole (NRCG). This post is commissioned to support the provision of highly specialist psychological assessment, intervention, and support for patients on the NRCG.
The post involves providing direct and indirect psychotherapeutic interventions, and cognitive assessment and rehabilitation for people on NRCG. Multidisciplinary team working is key to this role and therefore the post also involves liaising with medical staff, nursing staff, clinical team leads and allied health professionals to support the provision of a highly specialist clinical psychology service for NRCG.
This post is suited to someone with an interest in, or experience in, working with people in specialist neurorehabilitation centres. The post will be supervised and supported by the Principal Clinical Psychologist for NRCG, with professional oversight from the Clinical Lead for the Department of Psychological Medicine.

Education and Qualification
Essential
* Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
* Further specialist training and supervision in specific psychological approaches (i.e. ACT, CAT, CBT etc).
* Further post-doctoral supervision and experience in working with patients with acute and long-term neurological diagnoses.
* To be a fully registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council.
Desirable
* Member of the British Psychological Society.
* Member of the Division of Neuropsychology.
* Pursuing/completed Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology.
Occupational experience and abilities
Essential
* Experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist for a minimum of two years post-qualification.
* Experience of working in an in-patient care setting.
* Experience of exercising clinical responsibility for a client's psychological care and treatment, both individually and in liaison with other relevant professionals involved in the patient's care.
* Experience of compiling and providing teaching and training sessions.
* Experience of working and communicating with a wider variety of client groups, across the whole life course in particular adults with cognitive difficulties, their loved ones, work and other professionals.
* Ability to maintain high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems where there may be verbal or physical abuse.
* Experience in providing clinical supervision to psychology colleagues and/or AHPs.
* Experience of administering, interpreting, and reporting on cognitive assessments.
* Experience working clinically in services for adults with acute/long-term neurological conditions.
* Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams or services.
Desirable
* Experience of undertaking relevant practice based research within the field neuropsychology.
Knowledge and skills
Essential
* Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management of patient presentation often requiring sustained and intense concentration.
* Knowledge of the theory and specialist therapies for cognitive rehabilitation.
* Highly developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to patients, their loved ones and professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
* Skills in providing consultation to other professionals and non-professional groups.
* Doctoral level knowledge and or equivalent of research design and methodology including complex multivariate data analysis as practiced within the field of clinical psychology.
* Knowledge of and ability to engage with psychometric data from specialist cognitive and neuropsychological assessments. With the ability to accurately interpret results and provide a clear and concise report to direct and support MDT interventions.
Desirable
* Additional skills with highly specialist psychological interventions i.e. functional behaviour analysis.
