Role Overview:
As the commercial Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in their finance team, working closely with the Head of Finance to ensure the delivery of financials. Your responsibilities will include partnering closely with operations, producing monthly management accounts, detailed analysis of records, preparation and agreement of billing schedules, and overseeing payroll processes. Additionally, you will contribute to the year-end accounting process, support annual audits, and collaborate with operational teams to evaluate Business Plans and forecasts.
Salary:
Competitive salary, up to £60,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Producing monthly management accounts.
2. Ensuring monthly Payroll to GL reconciliations are performed and signed off.
3. Ensuring cost and revenue reconciliations are agreed.
4. Ensuring intercompany balance sheet reconciliations are performed, agreed between entities and subsequent invoicing is issued and paid.
5. Reconciliation of detailed balance sheet cost accruals, revenue accruals, prepayments, and deferred income
6. Processing and filing of journals (with associated supporting documentation/workings), ensure all accrual journals are processed as reversing journals ensuring they are fully reversed each month.
7. Producing annual budgets, whilst working integrally with Operational teams.
8. Preparing and finalising quarterly VAT reports and reconciliations which are to be included in group VAT returns to HMRC.
9. Ensuring monthly accounting processes are completed successfully and any errors are resolved.
10. Working closely with the Operational team(s) to financially produce monthly accounting figures, evaluate Business Plans and forecasts.
11. Assisting the Head of Finance with the year-end accounting process and support the Head of Finance with the annual statutory audits.
12. To comply with group's Health & Safety Policy and associated procedures, ensuring one's own health & safety and health & safety of colleagues, clients and visitors.
13. To maintain and protect personal data, ensuring compliance with Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR.
14. Maintaining professional conduct at all times.
15. Complying with all group policies and processes and ensure continuous improvement.
16. Undertaking regular and relevant Continuous Professional Development to grow and develop in role..
Requirements:
17. Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA OR CIMA).
18. Minimum 3-5 years of financial environment experience.
19. Proficient in Excel
20. Expertise in management accounting techniques, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
21. Strong technical accounting knowledge and problem-solving skills.
22. Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
23. Ability to manage people effectively and develop positive working relationships.
