Job Description:
A lovely family is seeking a part-time nanny, experienced with younger children, for 2 children – a 22-month-old boy and a 6-month-old girl. The nanny should be local and have their own car. The schedule is Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:30 am – 6:00 pm and Friday from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm (Friday afternoons are not essential).
The Mother requires the nanny to be physically fit and able to assist with the demands of a busy household with two young children. The role is predominantly a sole charge position, although the Mother will be present in the house but may need to rest. The nanny will primarily be in a sole charge capacity, but the Mother will accompany the nanny and the children to activities when possible.
The family has a duty car for the nanny to use for trips, playdates, excursions, and activities. The nanny will need their personal car for commuting to and from the property.
This role requires someone physically fit, experienced with babies, able to instill manners, support developmental learning and education, and be kind and nurturing to the children.
Salary: £16-17/hour depending on experience.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
1. Nursery Duties: Keeping play areas and toys clean and organized; maintaining cleanliness in communal areas used by the children; keeping children’s bedrooms tidy.
2. Laundry: Managing laundry related to the children, including washing, ironing, and folding clothes; keeping drawers and wardrobes orderly; changing bed sheets and making beds.
3. Cooking: Supporting dietary needs and preparing nutritionally balanced meals and snacks; implementing and supporting parents with a feeding routine; cleaning bottles and emptying the dishwasher.
4. Changing nappies and supporting potty training when needed.
5. Planning and implementing creative activities that promote developmental needs and support the children’s learning and education.
6. Organizing trips, playdates, and excursions (with the employer’s consent).
7. Driving the children to their activities.
8. Babysitting (if requested by the family and pre-arranged with the employer; this can be paid overtime at an hourly rate).
9. Traveling with the family may be required.
10. Drop-offs and pick-ups for the 22-month-old, who will start pre-school in September.
A proactive, reliable, and organized attitude is essential for this position.
