Job Overview:
The Viaflo Packing Operative will be responsible for packing Viaflo bags and other containers. This role involves using packing machines, checking the quality of packed products, and keeping the packing area clean and organized. Following safety rules and working well with the team to meet production goals are essential parts of this job.
Key Responsibilities:
Packing:
Pack Viaflo bags and other containers according to the given guidelines and schedule.
Operate packing machines and equipment, making sure they are set up correctly and working well.
Check packed products for quality and accuracy to ensure they meet company standards.
Report any problems with products or machinery to the supervisor.
Maintenance and Cleanliness:
Keep the packing area clean and organized, following health and safety rules.
Perform basic maintenance on packing machines as needed.
Make sure all packing activities follow safety and quality procedures.
Teamwork:
Work with other team members to keep the production process running smoothly.
Communicate with the supervisor and team about production progress and any issues.
Key Requirements:
Previous experience in a production or manufacturing job is helpful, especially with packing or handling similar products.
Ability to use machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
Attention to detail and a focus on high-quality work.
Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team environment.
Willingness to work day and night shifts, including weekends, as needed.
Shift Pattern:
Week 1: 60 hours
Week 2: 24 hours
Continental Shift Pattern: Includes both day and night shifts, each lasting 12 hours.
Pay Rate:
Hourly Rate: £14.06 per hour during training; increases to £14.64 per hour after successful completion of training
