We are currently recruiting a Social Worker to join our 16+ Care Leavers Service. We are proud to be ‘Good’ in Medway and are determined to build on the great work that has been done so far to improve the services for our children, young people and families.
You will provide a high quality and effective professional casework service for young people in care as they transition to independence, taking responsibility for working and managing a caseload within a framework of appropriate supervision, dependent upon the complexities of these cases and the social worker’s experience.
This role is a case holding role of 16, 17 and 18 year old young people in care. You will have knowledge of care proceedings and will support young people by ensuring pathways are followed, prior to leaving care and handing over to a Personal Advisor within the team.
About You
1. You will hold a degree in Social Work – CQSW, DipSW or equivalent and be registered with Social Work England.
2. You will have successfully completed your ASYE and have a minimum of 1 years’ practice as a social worker or 2 years’ practice as an experienced social worker, working with children and families.
3. You will have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Our Offer

1. A basic salary of £36,643 - £39,958 (Social Worker) or £39,959 - £43,646 (Experienced Social Worker).
2. An annual market allowance of £5,000 (Social Worker) or £5,500 (Experienced Social Worker) per annum, payable in monthly payments.
3. A retention payment of £2,000 (Social Worker) or £3,000 (Experienced Social Worker). This is a fixed sum payable in April each year, following one years’ service in Medway.
4. Generous annual leave entitlement of between 27 - 30 days plus bank holidays.

6. Essential Car user allowance with option to apply for a lease car after six months.

8. Hybrid working - enabling you to work from home/office (minimum of 2 days per week will be required in the office except during duty week when you will be office based all week).
