The Department of Computer Science at Royal Holloway is looking to appoint teaching fellows to support high-quality teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate taught level.
We carry out outstanding research and deliver excellent teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. We ranked 17th overall among UK computer science departments in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021, Times Higher Education ranking). We are 16th in the UK for graduate prospects (Complete University Guide 2025) and our software engineering teaching has been hailed as a ‘best practice’ example by BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.
Specific duties and responsibilities of this post includes: contributing to teaching, assessment, and supervision of student projects; coordinating (or assisting in the coordination) and delivering laboratory-based teaching in the Department; marking coursework and returning feedback to students; contributing to the development of software applications that support laboratory-based teaching or departmental administration; and contributing to departmental outreach activities, including Open Days, Applicant Visit Days, Taster Days, and participation in festivals.
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelors or postgraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent. The post is for approximately two years (to confirm on offer stage) and is available immediately.
