Blossoms on the Common is currently recruiting a number of Early Years Practitioners for our Ofsted 'Outstanding' nursery in Pelsall.
You must hold a level 2 or 3 in Early Years (not health and social).
The Nursery offers high-quality full day care for children aged 0 to 5 years.
Open 7.00am-6.00pm, 51 weeks of the year.
The nursery will be heavily supported by the curiosity approach to learning, with an emphasis on the natural world and what we can learn from it.
The role will be room-based, working with a key group of children. The job is for 40 hours a week, across 5 days, with occasional overtime.
You must be:
1. Confident and a self-starter with the ability to successfully work within a team to achieve the best outcome for children.
2. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Ofsted requirements, having achieved good/outstanding Ofsted results.
3. Have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work well in a team environment.
4. Have outstanding customer service skills with a focus on setting your nursery apart from other local settings by providing exceptional services in all aspects of the business.
5. Committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of the nursery and able to implement change when required.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Achieving and maintaining high standards of care and education and overseeing the planning and implementation of the EYFS curriculum across a key group of children.
2. Ensuring child/staff ratios are adhered to at all times and that all daily checklists are completed on time and accurately, such as opening and closing the nursery, outdoor risk assessments, and all internal domestic areas checklists.
3. Keeping abreast of current early childhood thinking/trends specifically related to the relevant curriculum. Assisting in compiling policies and ensuring all policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times.
4. Implementing an effective parent liaison program and being influential in the nursery's community engagement.
Essential:
1. CACHE level 3, NVQ level 3, EYFS or equivalent.
2. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
3. Knowledge and experience of Ofsted standards, child development, and EYFS.
4. Excellent communication and IT skills.
5. Pediatric first aid.
Desirable:
1. Safeguarding lead or SENCO qualifications.
2. Familiar with online learning journal systems, specifically Family3.
3. Experience/knowledge around the Curiosity approach.
