Job Title: Retail Sales Assistant
Location: Canterbury, Kent
Salary: £12.21 per hour
Hours: Part time - 2 days per week, Tuesday’s and Fridays
Contract Type: Temporary
About the Role
In this Retail Sales Assistant role, you will support the Retail Manager in running a high-performing, customer-focused store in Canterbury, ensuring a welcoming environment to achieve key sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Retail Manager with day-to-day store operations to meet financial targets
* Maintain high standards of merchandising and ensure an appealing, organised shop floor
* Handle stock management: receiving, sorting, pricing, and displaying donations
* Oversee shop administration tasks, including till operations
* Support and promote the Gift Aid scheme to maximise revenue from donations
* Adhere to health and safety policies, ensuring a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and customers
Principal Accountabilities:
* Stock & Display: Price, prepare, and maintain stock following guidelines, creating an attractive, clean shopping environment
* Volunteer Management: Support, train, and motivate volunteers, fostering a positive, productive team environment
* Customer Service: Provide excellent service to all visitors, representing Pilgrims Hospices with warmth and professionalism
* Compliance: Follow Trading Standards and other regulations to ensure all items are compliant for sale
