Job Summary:
We are looking for a strategic and results-oriented Project Director with a strong focus on business development to lead our projects portfolio and drive growth through new opportunities. In this role, you will not only oversee project execution but also engage in identifying and securing new business through tendering and proactive market exploration. The ideal candidate will have a blend of project management expertise and business acumen, with proven experience in winning bids and building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Portfolio Oversight: Oversee the entire lifecycle of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and high-quality delivery.
* Project Planning: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
* Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and control budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
* Resource Allocation: Coordinate and allocate resources effectively across projects to optimize productivity and performance.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential project risks, ensuring minimal disruptions.
* Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, keeping them informed of project status and addressing concerns as needed.
* Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
* Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all projects adhere to organizational policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
* Performance Reporting: Provide regular updates on project progress, financials, and challenges to senior management.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in project management.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience: 15-20+ years of experience in project management, preferably with large-scale projects or portfolios.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (PMP, Prince2) are a plus.
* Leadership: Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating diverse project teams.
* Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the bigger picture and align projects with company strategy.
* Financial Acumen: Experience in budgeting and cost control with a focus on profitability.
* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
* Problem-Solving: Skilled in quickly identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
* Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently.
