Band 7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapist - Neurosciences
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced neuro physiotherapist to join our Band 7 neurosciences rotations. Our 18-month rotations are based at the Royal Free, Hampstead site and comprise:
Acute Stroke and Neurology
Our acute stroke and neurology unit consistently delivers excellent patient care and has forged strong relationships with our local inpatient rehab, community and neuro navigator services.
Neuro REACT (REhab And Complex Therapy)
Neuro REACT is an innovative service that provides intensive, daily rehabilitation, including in-reach to ITU, for a small caseload of complex patients with predominately neurological conditions.
This service provides excellent outpatient care, as well as some vestibular rehabilitation in-reach to A&E.
Main duties of the job
The role is fully supported by experienced Clinical Lead Band 8 Physiotherapists and is part of the wider Royal Free Hospital Neuro-Therapies team. The team is truly inter-disciplinary, with a strong emphasis on supportive supervision, active learning and staff wellbeing. We have a regular in-service programme, a dedicated therapies education team and a dedicated therapies R&D team.

* Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
Education & professional Qualifications
* BSc Degree in Physiotherapy or Diploma or equivalent
* Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration - Physiotherapy
* Evidence or portfolio of post-graduate continued development in neuro clinical skills
* Active membership of special interest group e.g. ACPIN, ACPIVR
Experience
* Experience at Band 7 or considerable Band 6 experience in neurological physiotherapy
* Knowledge and experience of a wide range of approaches for the management of patients including stroke, progressive neurological conditions, neuro-rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, critical care, vestibular assessment and interventions, and functional neurological disorders
* Previous experience of staff & student supervision/ clinical education
* Experience of leading a team
* Experience of clinical audit and/or research
* Experience of teaching to groups / other healthcare professionals, patients and carers
* Evidence of active involvement in service development & contribution to change within the workplace
* Evidence of post graduate training / study in neurosciences Physiotherapy
Skills
* Highly effective written communication skills
* Able to manage own clinical caseload by prioritising effectively and support others to do the same
