Location: Apprentices will be working across their allocated region, those regions are North West Yorkshire, North East Yorkshire, South Yorkshire.
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

The Asset Delivery Maintenance Team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
Working in asset delivery maintenance as an ICA technician engineering apprentice means you will be on the frontline maintaining and repairing the assets that allow our process plant to be automated, as well as the technology that is used to monitor all of our installations 24/7 and our instrumentation that measures, monitors and controls the various water and wastewater plants and systems we have. You will have the opportunity to work in a highly technical environment with the Yorkshire Waters most advanced engineering assets as they evolve through new technology, as well as caring for our traditional instrumentation, electrical control systems and automation equipment always with our vision of a thriving Yorkshire, right for our customers and right for the environment
Where you fit in:
As our Instrumentation, Control & Automation Engineering Apprentice you will work to develop competence in:
• Excellent standards of performance in Health, Safety and Environmental management.
• Carry out safe isolation to the current IET regulations.
• Carry out fault finding techniques on control circuits up to the PLC (Programmable logic controller.
• Produce maintenance reports.
• Program PLCs (Programmable logic controller), including Schneider, Allen Bradley & Mitsubishi equipment.
• Maintain, calibrate and certify analytical instrumentation.
• Fault finding and repair of Safety instrument Loops.
• Work in accordance with Yorkshire Water Task Lists, Safe Working Procedures and safe systems of work.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
• 5 GCSE’s grades A-C or 4-9 including English, mathematics and a Science subject.
• A full UK driving licence.
• An ability to pass a colour-blind assessment.
• An ability to demonstrate an interest in Engineering and/or Programming through either work experience, a hobby or a qualification.
You will also benefit from having:
• No unspent criminal convictions
• A willingness to work outdoors in all weathers
• Living within or being willing to travel to the regional area where the vacancies are advertised
• The ability to pass the Yorkshire Water Occupational Health Screening Assessment
