The Macro Strategies team, based in London, manages $6.5 bn for clients globally in multi-asset portfolios which aim to deliver positive returns for investors through varying market environments, seeking to provide a truly alternative product with consistent outcomes. The team seeks to identify investment opportunities that arise in markets from the mispricing of macro drivers by using a research-oriented macro framework, carrying out comprehensive security-level analysis and employing flexibility and dynamically adjusting exposures as the macro backdrop evolves. Role Summary: In this role as junior Portfolio Manager for the Macro Strategies team you will conduct macro and asset class research, assist with the implementation of macro views in portfolios, and perform other general portfolio management duties. Job Responsibilities: Contribute to the portfolio management of Macro Strategies portfolios. Day-to-day portfolio management responsibilities include managing cash flows, sizing trades, ensuring portfolios are managed in accordance with investment guidelines Conduct in-depth research of macro economic drivers of markets, contributing to team discussions and informing portfolio views Build on existing knowledge across asset classes with focus on fundamental, valuation, ESG and technicals Over time, the PM will be expected to contribute increasingly to portfolio management decisions Required qualifications, capabilities and skills Recent, relevant experience in a market facing role (preferably working at a buy-side firm but sell-side experience also considered) Solid experience of a major asset class with additional asset class experience preferable Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills Strong work ethic and high level of curiosity Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, and written) Attention to detail and accuracy in a fast moving, demanding environment Ability to work both collaboratively and independently Strong technical and analytical skills Python proficiency desirable This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
