Originally, the business predominantly operated as a refrigeration contractor; the business has grown into offering multiple disciplines including air conditioning, ventilation, heating, plumbing and renewables. What are we looking for…
We are looking for someone with an excellent knowledge of HVAC combined with strong sales skills, to work closely with customers, Account Managers and internal teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet clients’ needs. The Technical Sales Lead is responsible for driving sales growth by leveraging technical expertise to effectively sell our products and services to potential and existing clients.
Location: Hull –Please note this role requires national customer coverage.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
* Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and existing customers.
* Provide pre-sales technical support, explaining the technical features and benefits of products.
* Assist in product presentations, demonstrations, and solution proposals.
* Collaborate with the sales team to define customer needs and tailor solutions.
Product Expertise:
* Act as the technical subject matter expert (SME) on the company’s products and services.
* Stay up-to-date on new product developments, enhancements, and industry trends.
* Explain technical details and specifications to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Work directly with customers to understand their business challenges and recommend suitable solutions.
* Conduct product demos, trials, and training sessions.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during the sales process.
* Help sales teams’ close deals by providing technical expertise and competitive insights.
* Create sales tools such as presentations, datasheets, and technical documents.
* Participate in negotiations and assist with contract terms when technical knowledge is required.
* Ensure successful implementation of the product or solution after the sale.
* Provide ongoing customer support, answering any technical questions or concerns that arise.
* Work closely with product development, marketing, and customer support teams to communicate customer feedback and technical requirements.
* Assist with technical marketing materials and webinars to raise awareness and generate leads.
Reporting and Forecasting:
* Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales opportunities in CRM systems.
* Track sales targets, provide regular reports to management, and assist in forecasting future sales.
Skills & Experience:
* Strong technical background in HVAC
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
* Previous experience in technical sales, or a related field.
* Ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
* Strong problem-solving and customer relationship management skills.
* Ability to meet sales targets and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Full UK driving licence
