Technical Support Officer (Waste Management)
Role Responsibility
This role is not an IT support role; it is a business administration support role within the Kent County Council Waste Management team.
Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey in the Environment and Circular Economy sector? We have an amazing opportunity for a Technical Support Officer with a focus on business administration support. We're on the lookout for a motivated individual eager to showcase their administration skills in a dynamic, customer-oriented environment.
As the first point of contact for our team, you'll play a crucial role in delivering top-notch customer service and administrative support. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks such as customer service, clerical duties, and financial management support, ensuring our Resource Management and Circular Economy Team operates smoothly. A significant task will involve managing vehicle vouchers, requiring you to handle urgent enquiries in a time-sensitive environment.
In this role, you'll need excellent interpersonal, complaint handling, and communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of internal and external customers and stakeholders. Confidence with IT systems and processes is also essential.
This fixed-term, full-time position offers the flexibility of hybrid working, allowing you to work both from the office at Invicta House, Maidstone, and from home.
At KCC, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the vibrant community we serve. We welcome applications from individuals of all ages, abilities, genders, sexual orientations, ethnic backgrounds, and faiths. We strive to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and can be their authentic selves.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council, therefore, has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
