Job Description: The Production Operator (Despatch & Paint Prep) is responsible for the packaging and dispatch of steel bracketry, following packaging specifications to ensure product safety during transport. The role also includes preparing metal components for painting in a manufacturing environment. The Production Operator will clean, sand, mask, and prime surfaces to meet quality standards. Key responsibilities include: * Packaging steel components per customer specifications, securing packaging materials, and handling transport logistics. * Re-tapping threads and preserving parts to prevent corrosion. * Handling materials using a forklift, managing inventory levels, and supporting stock checks. * Cleaning and preparing surfaces for painting, performing sanding and masking as required. * Maintaining equipment and disposing of hazardous materials according to safety regulations. * Conducting quality inspections to ensure all products meet standards before dispatch. Skills & Experience: * Experience as a Production Operator or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive environment. * Proficient in paint preparation techniques, including cleaning, sanding, and masking. * Familiarity with packaging standards for automotive components and steel surfaces. * Forklift Truck (FLT) license is desirable, but training will be provided. * Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to adhering to them.
