A once thriving timber yard, our charming and ruggedly handsome building now welcomes visitors & locals of Stratford-upon-Avon as a riverside Taproom. Located at the heart of the stunning Warwickshire countryside, in the medieval market town of buzzing Stratford-upon-Avon, Cox’s Yard sits proudly in an area famed for its history, culture and quaint beauty which attracts literary enthusiasts and curious visitors from all over the globe.
Position
We are looking to appoint a big hitting General Manager, influential in creating vision, developing the business and delivering a first-class experience for all.
You will be accountable for the overall day-to-day running and management of the entire function, to drive excellence in food and drink delivery and guest experience to maximise profitability within the venue.
Naturally, you will be expected to deliver against the key measures of sales, profit, stock, team retention and guest satisfaction, as well as adhering to all legislative requirements for people, safety and licensing.
Requirements
1. Energetic and vibrant, as General Manager you will be the face of our businesses and have a natural flair for hospitality and the ability to motivate and lead a team through your passion, standards and commitment.
2. Operations - a strong manager with experience of operating multi revenue streams including wet, dry, event and conference facilities.
3. Events experience - ability to operationally manage big events and private booking space whilst ensuring the remaining business operates smoothly.
4. Sales & Marketing – ability to network in the local area to create in-demand experiences.
5. Entrepreneurial flair – know and understand your market, competitors, and customers to implement and drive sales opportunities.
6. Passion for Beer – knowledge and passion for beer to ensure that this is high on the agenda with the wider team.
7. Resilience – you will be operating a business that is at the heart of our Head Office!
8. Management – proven success of recruiting and managing a motivated team with excellent standards identifying talent and ensuring succession.
9. Career Progression – keen to develop your personal career as this is a potential stepping stone into an Operations Manager role.
