An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic administrator to join the Team in Gastroenterology / Fibroscan service withing CDC. This post is a 3 months fixed term post 22.5 hours per week supporting the new fibroscan service within CDC. The post holder will provide a booking and administrative support service to facilitate the patient pathway. The post holder will work flexibly across the service processing referrals, booking appointments, processing clinic changes, covering incoming telephone calls and undertaking a range of general admin tasks as and when required. The post holder will provide an efficient audio typing service to ensure that clinical correspondence and all associated actions have been actioned to ensure smooth progress throughout the patient pathway in line with clinical requests. The post holder will have skills in all areas of administrative functions to enable them to support the patient pathway, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure that functions of the role are carried out correctly within given timescales. The post holder will ensure accurate data recording using the Patient Administration System (PAS), the Electronic Referral System (ERS) and other systems. Using Patient Tracking Lists (PTL) and other reports, the post holder will book Outpatient events in accordance with clinical instruction and national/local waiting time targets. You will work flexibly as part of the team producing clinical correspondence using Medisec digital transcription software, from outpatient and inpatient attendances ensuring clinical line of priority and chronological order. You will schedule appointments in line with clinical instructions and SOPs, liaising with other members of clinical admin teams. A good all-round knowledge of medical terminology is preferred alongside previous experience of working in a clerical administrative role. You will be required to promptly file correspondence and investigation results into case notes in line with the trust policy, ensure accuracy and recording of all clinical events as part of the patient pathway, and provide general administrative support where required across the whole team.
