Supporting the Operational Planning team to optimise, prioritise, resource and schedule the Operational plan within current year timescales. You will support in ensuring all work to be delivered is scheduled and assigned as appropriate to ensure area targets are met.
What you'll be doing
1. Assist in the management of a rolling and dynamic plan for all operational, unlicensed and capital works within a specified zone; focusing on the Operational 0-1-year timescales.
2. Assist the Planning Engineer with all planning changes within 0-1-year timescales.
3. Ensure regular contact with the team Operations Managers, Substation Supervisory Engineers and Project Leaders to ensure all work is scheduled and assigned in line with delivery plans.
4. Accountable for ensuring all outage, non-outage and routines are scheduled out.
5. Assist with resource plan management.
6. Accountable for ensuring all TBA outage data is moved accordingly.
7. Help identify opportunities within the site campaign time for bundling outage and non-outage work to ensure optimum efficiency of time (Example – Property Services visits, Diesel Gen Op tests, CMS and Battery Maintenance).
8. Support the Planning Assistant with management of the ‘Planning Action’ work.
9. Provide minute taking as required for planning meetings.
10. Responsible for raising work orders (DEF01, DEF02, DEF03, TL’s, EMI’s & OESB’s).
11. Other duties, as assigned, to ensure operational compliance, safety and delivery within Substations or Overhead Lines.
What you'll need
1. Knowledge of the Planning Processes and Systems e.g. Ellipse, TOGA, Click Schedule, WORTS, Delivery Workflow Tool (DWT) and Single View of the Plan (SVOP) etc. across all work types.
2. Ability to bundle work during delivery including outage and non-outage.
3. Knowledge of NG Safety Rules, National Safety Instructions and Working Procedures.
4. Ability to multitask and prioritise.
5. Ability to make changes and updates to the resource plans in an operational environment.
6. Proven flexibility to adapt positively to change.
7. Ability to apply commercial thinking to all planning decisions, using financial information available to ensure accuracy of staff allocation to work.
