We are currently seeking an EC&I Engineer to join the Decommissioning & Waste Services market within our Nuclear & Power business. Ideally based in Northwest England although other locations UK wide can be considered. Our hub offices are Whitehaven and Manchester.
You will work in our market which is predominantly focused on delivering engineering and waste management projects for clients within the Nuclear Decommissioning sector, with some projects focused on other stages of the nuclear lifecycle. We tackle projects that have varied engineering, nuclear and safety challenges, which requires proactive and mixed-skill delivery teams working collaboratively to deliver a high-quality solution.

The Role:
You will join an existing EC&I team and be responsible for the delivery of varied design and engineering packages and project tasks for key nuclear clients. You may have a role in overseeing and developing current junior designers and engineers and integrating with the wider disciplines within the engineering group.
The role could develop into a lead role in our team by demonstrating that you have strong engineering capabilities and can contribute to multi-disciplinary design delivery autonomously, with minimal oversight.
Key skill sets shall include:
* Develop design solutions to agreed time, cost and quality, aligned to milestones.
* Understand the contractual and performance requirements for various systems and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design, build, integration, installation and commissioning activities.
* Produce or check documentation required to support the design review process, including diagrams; technical specifications; calculations; design evidence and justifications.
* Ensure compliance against contractual requirements and Quality Assurance processes.
* Review relevant supplier documentation.
* Support design reviews and presentations to customers.
The Individual:
The successful candidate should ideally be able to demonstrate some experience in full lifecycle engineering, technical report writing, Design Justification reports, presenting designs to colleagues & clients, testing, and ideally a good understanding in one of the following areas:
* Instrumentation and control system theory including PID control.
* Electrical circuits design, EMC precautions and power supply characteristics.
* Safety Integrity Levels and BS EN 61508 or 61511.
* Machinery Safety and UKCA Marking.
* PLC programming.
* Fieldbus technology (Profibus/Profinet).
* Electrical power distribution.
* Building services (lighting, fire safety systems and small power).
