Job Description
MPA Ballymena are working alongside the Northern Health and Social Trust (NHSCT) to offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Band 3 Cook to join the team within a public café setting in a healthcare environment.
This role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and service for patients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a strong understanding of food safety, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of hot and cold meals to a consistently high standard
* Ensure meals are nutritious, well-presented, and meet dietary guidelines and special requirements
* Follow all national food safety standards and adhere to hygiene regulations (HACCP procedures)
* Assist in menu planning, portion control, and stock management as required
* Provide friendly and professional customer service in a café-style setting
* Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety in all kitchen and service areas
Qualifications
* City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation (or equivalent)
* HACCP training as part of advanced food hygiene controls
* Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
Hours & Pay
* Shifts available Monday–Sunday (varied shift patterns)
* Pay rate: £12.31 – £20.80 per hour
