Utility Consultant – Birmingham
We are a growing consultancy seeking an experienced Utility Consultant with knowledge of the utility infrastructure industry to join our team. This role will involve managing key utility infrastructure projects across a variety of building developments. You will work closely with clients, project teams, and industry experts to ensure the successful delivery of utility connections, diversions, and infrastructure procurement.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a client-facing role where you will be involved in a wide range of projects related to utility infrastructure. As a Utility Consultant, you will:
* Act as a safe pair of hands for our clients, ensuring the successful delivery of complex and demanding utility infrastructure projects.
* Consult, design, and manage the process of securing utility connections and resolving capacity shortages, asset encroachments, and aging infrastructure issues.
* Assist in making applications, liaising with utility providers, and managing the procurement of infrastructure services for building projects.
* Work closely with senior team members and provide support to the Director on project delivery and client management.
* Support and mentor other team members, helping to manage the delivery of utility infrastructure on diverse projects.
* Ensure high standards of service and technical quality in all project work, providing reliable and informed advice to clients.
* Help the team to grow by identifying new opportunities and assisting in business development initiatives.
What We Are Looking For
* Experience in delivering utility connections, diversions, and infrastructure strategies for UK development projects.
* An understanding of Gas, Water, Electricity, and Telecom industries. We are open to candidates with experience in one or more utilities, with the willingness to expand their knowledge.
* Proven project experience in the utility sector, particularly within construction.
* Ability to work closely with clients on technical and commercial aspects of utility infrastructure.
* A strong technical and commercial understanding of utility infrastructure management.
