Main duties of the job
1. To contribute to the development of nursing practice within the Care Group, in conjunction with the growing needs of the service.
2. To provide specialist training including focusing on the field of bone marrow transplantation (BMT) and systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) assessments and training.
3. To promote a learning environment that ensures evidence based practice and optimal service delivery.
4. To undertake clinical practice, working alongside staff providing supervision, teaching and assessment of competence.
5. To support Nursing Staff in their professional and personal development.
6. To work in partnership with the Divisional Education and Practice Lead, the Multi Professional Team and other Clinical Educators to provide education to improve acuity practice, clinical nursing and service delivery.
7. To lead the development of the educational programme as identified in the Training Needs Analysis and Career Education Mapping processes.

Job responsibilities
1. Competent in the administration of BMT and SACT Therapies.
2. To evaluate changes in clinical practice, using the appropriate tools.
3. To be responsible for evaluating, monitoring and maintaining standards of quality for clinical practice initially in relation to BMT and SACT training.
4. Build and maintain relationships with other professionals within BMT, SACT and the wider care group.
5. To keep abreast of government initiatives to enhance patient care, ensure initiatives are implemented and information is disseminated to all clinical staff.
6. To work closely with the Care Group team for quality and staff development.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential
* Registered Nurse (Adult or Child) on Part 1 of the NMC Register, Registered Midwife or other Registered Allied Health Professional.
* Masters Level qualification or relevant equivalent experience.
* Completion of ILS.
* Currently working primarily with adult patients.
* Evidence of ongoing development and education.
* Extensive post registration experience within a related specialty (SACT + BMT competent).
* Experience of educating and developing staff.
* Experience of undertaking clinical audit.
Desirable
* Evidence of practice clinical development and management of change.
* Competent in relevant expanded practices.
* Has experience working within a busy general ward.
* Research awareness/experience.
* Stress management or counselling course.
