We are seeking a highly motivated and strong data specialist to lead data, AI and analytics as the UKGI Data & Analytics Director. This role presents a unique opportunity to own data strategy and delivery for UK General Insurance, utiliising the latest technology and working with an ambitious and high performing Executive Leadership team. Central to the role is the ability to develop and deliver the UKGI Data Strategy, including Generative AI, and the effective deployment of high-quality data science, AI, modelling and analytics capability across the UKGI business in order to deliver growth, efficiency and good customer outcomes. The successful candidate will also undertake the formal AIL Data Governance Officer role, leading the data governance and data privacy agenda as well as leading on and data engineering capability across UKGI. The role requires strong leadership skills and a proven ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team of over 250 data professionals. Whilst the successful candidate will join the Personal Lines Executive Committee (Exco), the role supports all businesses and functions across UKGI and the successful candidate will work in partnership with the MDs and leadership teams of UK Commercial, GCS, Claims and GI Finance, alongside other members of the GI Exco and CIO leadership. Skills & Experience we are looking for: Experience leading successful data organisations, developing senior teams Knowledge of UK General Insurance market and understanding of insurance products and economics Track record in using data and analytics to add value Good understanding of the technology, data management frameworks and governance approaches to drive enhanced data maturity Deep understanding of data risk environment including relevant regulatory considerations First class leadership and communication skills Ability to operate independently and objectively - empowering others, building trust with peers and direct reports. Results driven - able to make pragmatic commercial and risk-based decisions. The team is primarily based in Norwich & London so considerable time will be required with the teams in these locations. Additional travel to Perth & other sites may also be required. Additional Information This is a Regulated Role and will be subject to enhanced pre-employment screening procedures.
