Job Description
We’re recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join an established team, taking ownership of the North of England region, where this person will ideally be based. In this role, you’ll identify, develop, and manage relationships to deliver sales, quality and profitability targets across all Insurance products and propositions, cost effectively and ethically. You’ll aim to deliver this through an agreed business development plans and individual key account strategic plan within your region.
What you'll be doing:
* Achieving agreed account performance targets by building business relationships at all levels with allocated accounts and increasing market share across a range of products and propositions
* Establishing, defining, and maintaining a business plan to drive account development, relationship management, and product promotion through a developed contact strategy across a panel of c. 250 accounts, demonstrating sound fact-finding skills to maximize business opportunities and achieve targets
* Demonstrating excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, influencing account strategy development by collating and feeding market intelligence to accounts and colleagues to ensure commercially beneficial relationships
* Working in effective partnership with all colleagues in the Intermediated Division and across the wider Legal & General business, implementing your business plan and contact strategy, and delivering mutual support to meet and exceed accounts’ needs and expectations
* Responding to and taking ownership of pre-submission related enquiries, ensuring accounts are furnished with the necessary information to fulfil their enquiries, and providing follow-up action details where appropriate to maximize opportunities
* Maintaining a high level of knowledge of competitor and own products and propositions, as well as industry and marketplace awareness, to deliver a superior, expert, and quality interface with your account panel
* Interacting with accounts and handling customer complaints in difficult and sensitive situations with sympathy and empathy to resolve queries
* Acting in accordance with Legal & General’s Customer Experience and Treating Customer Fairly Policies
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
* Extensive Sales skills, and Business Development experience in the Protection and Mortgage market. Wealth Management experience also considered
* Full market knowledge of Protection and Mortgage markets to train, coach and develop strategy within business providers to grow income streams through improved understanding and confidence
* Marketing methods to assist business providers in day-to-day sales activity and campaign planning to achieve income growth
* Intermediary Insurance distribution strategy, to effectively target and increase
* An understanding of current legislative and regulatory regime, so that business is conducted within the legal framework protecting the corporate brand and values
* RO1 and RO5 are desirable but non-essential
