The Role
You will provide a domestic service to patients, staff, and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire (NHSL) premises through the use of effective and efficient methods, which deliver a ‘safe’ and welcoming environment and meet the required NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards.
You will work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.
It is essential that you undertake Prevention, Assessment & Management Of Violence & Aggression (PaMOVA) training level 1 and level 2, if identified following an appropriate risk assessment. On-the-job training and induction will be provided (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked) to achieve full competency across a range of duties. You will undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training and mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards.
What we'll need you to bring
1. Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures
2. Working knowledge Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks
3. Effective written and verbal communication skills
4. Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
5. Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment
6. Working knowledge of basic information technology
It would be great if you also have:
1. Flexible and have the ability to work varied shifts
2. Willing to learn
3. Ability to work under pressure
4. Recognised SVQ or relevant equivalent qualification
5. Experience working in a domestic services/cleaning environment
6. Knowledge of systems and processes e.g. HAI; manual handling; management of aggression; infection control; COSHH, fire safety
7. Ability to use a range of electrical cleaning equipment
Contract type
Permanent, Part Time, 12 hours
Please note this is a part-time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Domestic Services within Wester Moffat Hospital. The working pattern for this role is Saturday/Sunday 0700-1330.
