About The Role
Morrison Energy Services is currently looking to recruit an Environmental Advisor to work on our National Gas Asset Health framework. This role will be based across a large area with initial projects spanning from Chelmsford to the West Midlands, so travel will be required. The role will provide environmental support to our operational teams, who work across various frameworks delivering projects for our clients.
As an Environmental Advisor, you will be a key part of our SHEQ team, providing expert advice, assistance, and guidance regarding the management of health, safety, and environmental issues.
As an Environmental Advisor, your duties & responsibilities will be:
1. Assist and advise the operational and management team to further develop the management systems and operational practices.
2. Support, review, and aid the population of construction phase plans, environmental plans, and review contractors' RAMS.
3. Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g., risk assessments, risk management, fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational health.
4. Assist with the development of SHE management systems.
5. Liaise with external bodies including the Health and Safety Executive, clients, and other stakeholders as directed by the SHE Manager.
6. Support incident management & investigation processes.
7. Produce toolbox talks, team talks, and appropriate SHE training materials about health and safety issues and risks.
8. Monitor trade contractors via site inspections and management audits.
9. Act as a role model at all times in support of the MES Gas construction visions, priorities, and values.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
1. Consistently demonstrate high standards of safety behaviour, leading by example and promoting a safety culture.
2. Previous experience as a Safety Advisor in a construction environment (Utilities experience desirable).
3. Knowledge and experience of Temporary Works management.
4. Ability to influence at all levels.
5. Ability to manage potential conflict during site inspections with operational teams.
6. Capable of delivering confident, articulate presentations.
7. Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications - Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
8. NEBOSH General or Construction qualification.
9. NRSWA qualification and Utility SHEA Gas Passport is desirable.
10. Full driving licence and willingness to travel is essential.
11. Knowledge of SCO91 is preferable but not essential.
