DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business, is seeking a professional to play a vital role coordinating our daily warehouse and distribution requirements.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:
1. Take responsibility for the full scope of HSE & BCM activities conducting regular reviews.
2. Provide guidance and direction to site Management to ensure continued compliance and improvement of HSE & BCM standards.
3. Liaise proactively with enforcing authorities as required to ensure the Company is properly represented.
4. Ensure adequate and appropriate HSE & BCM advice, guidance, and support is provided to the site.
5. Monitor the accuracy and quality of information in Logics and ensure adequate trend analysis is produced and used by the site.
6. Undertake relevant HSE & BCM audits and create action plans in line with corporate requirements (SA 053).
7. Deliver and provide support in the development of HSE & BCM training requirements at the site as required or directed.
8. Assist in the design, implementation, and management of all company safety initiatives.
9. Ensure a structured and evidenced program of personal activity showing work topics/activities/training delivered.
10. Provide training and guidance to ensure risk assessments and safe systems of work are developed and maintained. Provide coaching to improve the quality of assessments and control measures. Drive action where risks are identified and ensure closure on agreed action.
11. Assist the management team in understanding their H&S responsibilities.
12. Network to ensure the sharing and obtainment of best practices within the business.
13. Ensure accident investigations are completed in a timely manner and actions are implemented to prevent reoccurrence at the site (inclusive of major incidents & motor).
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

1. Over 2 years of experience working in an operational H&S role.
2. Previous H&S responsibility in warehouse and transport environments; target-focused with the ability to deliver standardized programs.
3. Stakeholder management and management influence.
4. Experience in developing individuals.
5. Could be requested to support local sites if required.
6. NEBOSH National General Certificate.
7. NEBOSH Diploma / equivalent (Desirable).
8. NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management (Desirable).
9. PC Literate.
