We are looking to recruit high-quality radiographers who can offer experience in either CT, MRI, or both.
Our Trust is based across two large hospitals, the Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospitals. Across the organisation, we have 6 Canon CT scanners, 4 Siemens MRI scanners, 2 Phillips MRI scanners, and an Esaote Extremity MRI scanner.
We have a large new trauma centre currently being completed at Bournemouth, and we will imminently be adding 3 additional state-of-the-art CT scanners to our portfolio. In CT, we perform a large amount of orthopaedic, neuro, and chest/body studies, as well as specialist examinations such as cardiac, angiography, colonography, and ablations. In MRI, we have the opportunity to perform orthopaedic, spine, angio, liver, cardiac, breast, prostate, head & neck, and arthrography. In reality, there are not many examinations that we are not undertaking.
This post will be based initially solely at Poole Hospital; however, please note that once the new trauma centre in Bournemouth is open, the role will involve working also on the Bournemouth site.
The shifts are currently over a 4-day working week from Monday to Sunday (including bank holidays) and consist of 7am-5pm, 8am-6pm, 10am-8pm, 1pm-11pm, and a night shift of 10pm-8am. In addition to this, you would be required to participate in the MRI on-call rota out of hours.
Base Location: Bournemouth/Poole Hospital
Interview Date: TBC
Main duties of the job
We benefit from a dynamic, advanced-thinking team of radiographers and assistants who enjoy good working and social relationships. There is excellent support for CPD, such as IV cannulation training, study days, and courses. This department is committed to staying at the forefront of technology as well as all the latest CT & MR scanning techniques.
We offer the possibility to be recruited as a band 5 and receive training, or, if you already have previous experience in CT or MRI, to join us straight as a band 6 radiographer. If you then require training in the other modality, this is not a problem - we are always keen to develop our team.
About us
Our values define who we are as #TeamUHD. They underpin everything we do now and in the future. They define how we treat our patients, visitors, and each other, our valued team mates and colleagues.
