We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to work within the Medical & Surgical Therapy team. This is a zero hour contract on the Bank as a Therapy Technical Instructor. The post offers the opportunity to work in an exciting University Hospital. The successful applicant will become part of two clinically based teams that make up the Therapies Directorate. The post will work within acute wards across UHNM sites.
The successful candidate should have experience of working within a healthcare environment and an understanding of Therapy interventions. The post holder will also be expected to complete competencies in both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
Supervision will be provided by the Band 5/6/7 Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist and personal development is supported through appraisal and internal and external training.
Main duties of the job
The post rotates across a variety of specialist inpatient and outpatient areas which include: Surgery, Palliative Care, Frail Elderly, Emergency Portals and Medicine (General and Respiratory including Non-Invasive Ventilation Unit and Cardiology). You will have the opportunity to be involved in providing early rehabilitation and complex discharge planning for a range of different conditions and injuries that are treated within a Major Trauma Centre.
The Therapies Department comprises of two multidisciplinary based teams, the Medical & Surgical Team and the Network Services Team, incorporating both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. These teams form part of the Trust Medical, Surgical and Network Services Divisions. Each team is led by a Divisional Therapist, Mrs Noeleen Hellis leads the Network Services Therapy Team, Mrs Jane Teasdale leads the Medical & Surgical Therapy Team & Mrs Clare Johnson for the County Hospital.

Education & Qualifications
* GCSE English Grace C/ 4 or above or evidence of good literacy
* GCSE Maths Grace C/4 or above or evidence of good numeracy

* Completed or undertaking a Therapy Apprenticeship
* Qualification within health/social or sports environment
Experience
* Experience in a NHS or other Healthcare/social/Sports environment
