Are you an experienced Compliance Manager with knowledge of mental health services and how they work, have excellent communication skills, exercise diplomacy and have a strong eye for detail? If so, join Elysium Healthcare as the Compliance Manager where you will be checking compliance of Elysium’s services with national regulatory standards and best practice.
This is not an audit role where there are clear right and wrong answers this is about reviewing care records, spotting a potential issue and following up by utilising other information sources to see if the issue is real.
You will be working in our Provider Compliance Assessment Team, reporting to Director of Policy and Regulation, Regional Directors and Registered Manager findings from reviews and visits, continually monitoring and feeding back findings both from documentation reviews and site visits.
Working 18.75 hours a week you will also be participating in PCA reviews, monitoring and reviewing audit, service reports and action plans and continually reviewing the company’s statutory and legal requirements in relation to operational compliance.
There will be requirement to travel throughout the country sometimes staying away from home up to 3 nights.
Other responsibilities:
* Monitoring and following up all requirements and recommendations made by external bodies including CQC, HIW and CIW.
* Monitoring and reporting on compliance with Elysium Healthcare policies.
* Ensuring that communication with all internal and external contacts is undertaken in a professional, courteous, and responsive manner in line with contractual and regulatory obligations.
* Reporting any serious issues of concern found during a visit to the Director of Policy and Regulation as soon as is practicably possible by email or phone.
* Working in line with Elysium Healthcare policies and procedures, including confidentiality and security of data, at all times and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
* Keep up to date with regulatory requirements.
To be successful in this role you will need:
* Experience in a similar post or Registered Manager or senior hospital/care home clinician
* The ability to drill down into detail and triangulate with other information to form a view on whether the service is compliant with expectations, being able to articulate why and how that view was formed.
* An understanding of the health and social care regulatory frameworks in England and Wales
* A demonstrable understanding of mental health services, MHA Code of Practice, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and overall Safeguarding
* Experience in communicating with staff at all levels in both group and individual situations.
* Experience in meeting with service users/patients/residents and being able to communicate effectively with those in mental health, learning disability, complex care, brain injury and young peoples’ services.
* Ability to work and stay away from home whilst undertaking up to 3-day visits to sites in England and Wales
* Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for the purpose of fulfilling this role.
