Mechanical Technician (Field Service)
Based from: Slough
Salary: £33,000 - £36,000 + vehicle + overtime
Alecto Recruitment is looking to hear from Field Service Engineers/Technicians and Mechanical Engineers interested in working for a leading UK distributor of fuel equipment which provides their services to the MOD, government, and the oil & gas sector.
Primarily covering the London area after training has been completed, you will carry out routine maintenance on boiler fuelling equipment and control systems.
Due to the nature of the company customer base, you will be required to have the following clearances:
1. SC (Security Clearance)
2. DV (Developed Vetting)
3. DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance
4. A Clean Criminal Record
5. A full clean driving licence due to the travel aspect of the position.
Duties:
1. Provide regular feedback of information within their customer base including all potential business opportunities to the Team Manager and Sales team.
2. Undergo audits and site inspections as required by Team Manager or General Manager to improve standards at all times.
3. Manage health and safety issues related to themselves and those required by the customers' sites and subcontractors they are working with.
4. Perform routine maintenance on industrial boiler fuelling equipment and associated control systems, test fuel in tanks, and report and address any system issues in a timely fashion.
5. Ensure strict confidentiality is observed when dealing with client information.
6. Willing to undertake any other work in any other areas or activities of the business as required.
7. Liaise with Team Manager & customers who require service, technical support, and proposals of possible new opportunities for further work.
8. Update at least on a weekly basis the schedule for themselves, including holidays and sickness time, and send to the Team Manager.
9. Ensure all relevant paperwork is returned to the office, including work sheets and reports, in a timely manner.
Engineer Profile:
90% of the work will be London-based, so must be willing to cover this area.
Essential:
1. Clean Driving Licence.
2. SC, DV, DBS clearance (or able to achieve this) and a Clean Criminal record due to the nature of client and customer areas of work.
Desirable:
1. +3 years of experience in a mechanical engineering environment, experience with hazardous areas, fuel installations, and tank inspections maintenance.
2. N.V.Q Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Installation.
3. Mechanical Engineering Modern Apprenticeship.
4. C&G Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
5. Commercial electrical installation and testing qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or industry equivalent).
6. Double & Single skin Pipework fitting, valves, tank Gauging knowledge.
7. OFTEC 600A - Tank installation and Maintenance.
8. Confined space.
9. Working at Height.
Optional:
1. Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Mechanical Engineering.
2. CompEx 11 Mechanical in Hazardous Areas.
