This is a full-time position providing psychiatric care to inpatients on Evergreen, alongside providing clinical leadership on the unit to ensure safe and effective service delivery.

Job responsibilities
Evergreen is a 15-bed acute mental health unit for adult male and female patients offering a 24-hour admission service to support local NHS services and PICU wards. The ethos of the acute ward is to provide support in a crisis and offer therapeutic engagement during the inpatient stay. Evergreen ward is situated within the grounds of Cheadle Royal Hospital supporting patients who present with mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, personality disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, and other diagnoses. For some patients, Evergreen ward will be their first admission to a mental health ward and the MDT will support them to overcome crisis and become well enough to be discharged into the community, whether this be home or to supported living. The MDT consists of a Responsible Clinician (RC), Specialty Doctor, Ward Manager, Occupational Therapist, the Nursing Team, and Psychology team, and the goal of the MDT is to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of patients who come to Evergreen ward.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* MBBS or Equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych with s12/AC approval
* Full GMC registration with license to practice
* Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
* Committed to continued professional development
* Desirable to have had significant experience of inpatient mental health acute units.
* Able to work collaboratively as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
