We're supporting our client, a leading injection moulding company based in Essex, who are looking for a Process Technician to join their growing team. The successful Process Technician will have experience of mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and repairs of injection mould machines.
Position Overview:
As a Process Technician, you'll report to the Mould Shop Team Leader and will be responsible for the technical aspect of production, by setting injection moulding machines, tools, ancillaries, materials, and working with operators to achieve the manufacturing plans and performance objectives as required. You'll also carry out safety checks, preventative maintenance, and basic machine and ancillary repairs.
Responsibilities for Process Technician:
1. Start up and shut down injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment in accordance with SOP's and good, safe practice.
2. Injection Moulding Machine Safety checks.
3. Tool change and condition set machines in accordance with SOP's, job packs, and good, safe practice.
4. Complete material and colour changes.
5. Ensure 'first off' products are produced to the required quality specification before production commences and carry out routine visual quality checks during the production run.
6. Accurately complete all paperwork to ensure correct data capture for performance and downtime.
7. Investigate, diagnose and troubleshoot moulding process issues where performance is below the required level using scientific injection moulding techniques.
8. Investigate, diagnose, and troubleshoot machine and ancillary equipment faults where performance is below the required standard.
9. Report all issues on a daily basis to the Mould Shop Team Leader to ensure problems are resolved quickly and to minimise any production downtime.
10. Work within 5S, SMED, Kaizen and Health & Safety systems in all work areas.
11. Conduct tool trials using scientific injection moulding process.
12. Conduct material trials using Manufacturers Safety Data Sheets.
13. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team where you may carry out tasks outside of your core skills e.g. PPAP, CPK, feasibility studies, CI projects, New Product Introductions.
About You:
1. NVQ Level 3 (City and Guilds) Injection Moulding.
2. Mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and repairs of injection mould machines experience.
3. Maintenance and repairs of ancillary equipment ability.
4. Injection mould tool insert changes and basic repairs experience.
5. Health, Safety & Welfare.
6. 5S.
7. OEE.
8. SMED.
9. ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015.
