The post holder will provide a comprehensive and flexible secretarial service for the Obstetrics & Gynaecology team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a comprehensive secretarial service to our Obstetrics & Gynaecology Team. As an experienced Secretary, you will have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of the team. Not only is this a busy and challenging specialty but you would also be joining a friendly, dedicated team who know the service well and who will be able to help you settle in.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* RSA III or equivalent qualification in Word Processing and Audio Typing or equivalent experience
* AMSPAR diploma or working towards
Experience
* Previous medical secretary experience or equivalent secretarial experience. Previous experience of working in an administration environment and of team working.
* Knowledge of Intranet/Internet and email. Previous experience of working with the public. Experience of working with a range of staff from multi-disciplines.
Skills
* Evidence of a high standard of communication, prioritisation and organisational skills when face to face and when using telephone. Evidence of good interpersonal skills. Able to function efficiently under pressure and to meet deadlines. A good range of I.T skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Previous experience of working with databases.
* Ability to speak Welsh.
Special Knowledge
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of the secretarial team. Ability to work in an extremely busy environment.
* Previous experience of health services environment.
Personal Qualities
* Reliable, methodical and with a flexible approach to work and with an ability to work on own initiative.
