Are you a skilled and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with complex needs? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join a primary school in Balsall Heath, Birmingham, working with a Year 5 cohort that presents a diverse range of needs.
The Role:
1. Supporting students with significant SEMH needs (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) due to trauma and attachment issues.
2. Providing tailored support for children with ADHD, ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition), and Dyslexia.
3. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to deliver individualised interventions.
4. Implementing behaviour management strategies and fostering a positive, nurturing environment.
5. Promoting emotional regulation and academic engagement.
What We're Looking For:
1. Proven experience in a resource base or special school setting.
2. Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and attachment-based support.
3. Experience working with students with complex SEMH needs, ADHD, ASC, and Dyslexia.
4. Ability to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies.
5. Skilled in de-escalation techniques and managing challenging behaviours effectively.
